Low self-esteem is very debilitating. When you believe that you are worthless and don’t have much to offer to the world. When you feel that you are constantly rejected by those you love; when you avoid contact with your friends and family members; when you verbalize self disparaging remarks about yourself like: “I am stupid”, “I am a loser”, “I am unimportant” and so on, it is time for you to seek help. Group therapy is a great resource and can help you overcome this debilitating state of mind.

I always say to my clients that I believe that we have all the necessary resources we need to overcome our problems. The answers to our problems are within us all the time, we just need to quiet our minds and they will become clear to us.

I’ve been leading self-esteem groups for a few years and every time I start a new group I feel excited about the potential for great transformations of those who are attending the group.

In the beginning of the group sessions my clients have expectations and hope they will get guidance and tools to overcome their doubts about themselves and the world around them. Through our weekly meetings I am witness of their growth. They become able to be aware of their own inner resources and their valuable contribution to the world.

Some signs of low self-esteem are:

  1. Inability to accept compliments,
  2. Verbalization of self-disparaging remarks, seeing herself as unattractive, worthless, stupid, a loser, a burden, and unimportant.
  3. Avoiding contact with friends and family members
  4. Needing to be a pleaser to receive attention from others
  5. Inability to identify and accept their positive traits and talents
  6. Fear of rejection by friends and family
  7. Having difficulties saying no to others.

With this group you will be able to shift and have a better understanding of yourself and the reasons you feel the way you feel. You will than be able to change and use daily habits and skills that empower you and bring you to a different level, improving your relationships, your professional and personal life and your overall health. The group runs for 12 weeks and throughout the meetings you will be learning skills that will help you change your perception about yourself, the world, and other people, empowering you to take charge of your life.

We will be learning skills through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Our next group will start on Saturday August 16 at 12 pm. We will meet for one hour and 30 minutes every week for 12 weeks.

The price of the session is $50 and it lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.
